A native Angeleno who spent her formative years terrorizing the good people of Mt Washington and Hancock Park, Shawna Dawson is a USC grad, marketing and social media maven with more than a decade of experience doing business in more than a dozen countries, from Romania to Japan.
A passionate foodie, locavore and believer in the power of community, she was among the first to join Yelp LA where she was an active contributor for years before taking the reins as Director of Marketing and Community Manager, cultivating a loyal following alongside countless sponsorships, promotions and memorable events.
At the helm of Sauce|LA, Shawna and her team consult clients from restaurants to non-profits on the virtues of grassroots, social and viral media, while dreaming up events like the historic crowd drawing LA Street Food Fest and trendsetting Artisanal LA, showcasing the city’s finest local, sustainable, handmade edibles. Shawna also produces food segments for NBCLA including TODAY Show Weekend’s In the Kitchen with anchor, Ted Chen.
Shawna’s a bacon lovin’ bon vivant who calls Carthay Circle home with her video gaming Welshman and their two cats.
